At Restoration Design, every 356 replacement chassis begins with quality materials. Our chassis are manufactured using premium galvannealed steel, poured and rolled in the USA, providing an exceptional foundation for strength, corrosion resistance, and long-term durability.
Galvannealed steel offers excellent weldability, formability, and paint adhesion, making it an ideal material for the complex structural components of a uni-body chassis.
Combining American-made steel with precision Canadian manufacturing, we produce complete chassis assemblies engineered for accurate fitment, structural integrity, and period-correct construction.
Each chassis is carefully assembled to replicate the original 356 architecture while accommodating model-specific differences and optional upgrades.

Restoration Design 356A chassis assemblies are designed to accommodate all 356A model years, from 1956 through 1959, using the correct, period-specific sheet metal panels and structural components.
We account for the differences between early AT1 (1956 to mid-1957) and later AT2 (mid-1957 to 959) Porsche 356A models to ensure the chassis is configured appropriately for the vehicle being restored.
